Position Summary: Rutherford Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide overnight care in the Behavioral Health Unit. This role involves supporting patients with a variety of psychiatric conditions through stabilization, therapeutic interventions, and collaborative care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to individuals with behavioral health needs
• Perform psychosocial and physical assessments
• Administer medications, including those related to psychiatric treatment
• Respond to crises using approved intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies
• Support therapeutic programming and facilitate group activities
• Ensure documentation of patient care and progress within EMR systems
• Collaborate with mental health professionals, physicians, and support staff
• Maintain a secure and compassionate environment aligned with regulatory guidelines

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification; CPI or related crisis intervention training highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with patients
• Proficiency in behavioral health assessment and care planning
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and regulatory compliance
