Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week contract, requiring registry certification and expertise in nuclear medicine procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based nuclear medicine department
- Performs independent nuclear medicine procedures including radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging
- Shift is Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with four 9-hour shifts per week
- May have on-call responsibilities based on departmental needs
- May occasionally perform procedures in other imaging modalities
- Primary duties include the safe administration of radiopharmaceuticals, venipuncture, and operation of nuclear medicine equipment
- Responsible for patient flow coordination and adherence to radiation safety practices
- May be required to complete up to 24 hours of online modules during orientation
- Local radiology candidates within a 30-mile radius are accepted at the same rate
- No more than 14 days of requested time off will be considered for this assignment
- Professionalism in equipment care and exercising independent judgment are important aspects of this role
Requirements
- Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Nuclear Medicine Technology required
- Current CPR certification required
- Nuclear Medicine registry certification required
- Ohio Department of Health (ODH) licensure required; pending is acceptable
- ARRT RT(R) registry and/or NMTCB required
- License required if applicable
- Preferred one year of experience in specialized field of Nuclear Medicine, but new graduates accepted
