- Assessment skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with competent knowledge of growth and development stages.
- Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.
- Demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to the unit's patient population.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
- Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Responds professionally and courteously to patients, families, and co-workers, promoting a cooperative care environment.
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and patient identification.
- Demonstrates knowledge of conditions, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients and individualizes care accordingly.
- Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and assuming responsibility and accountability.
- Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and provides pre- and postoperative education.
- Supports completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for surgical patients.
- Physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS.
- Job Requirements
- 1 year nursing experience.
- BLS certification required.
- RN License required.
- Unit Specific Information
- Knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment.
- Individualizes patient care based on procedure and anesthesia type.
- Perioperative team collaboration and patient care prioritization.
- Pre- and postoperative patient education and assessment.
- Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes.
- Additional Details
- BLS certification is required.
- RN License is required.
