Interventional Radiology \n\n\nPRIMARY DUTIES AND\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n\nDemonstrates competence in selecting exposure\nfactors, positioning and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic\nquality. Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve\nproblems\n\nexpediently.\n\n\n\nDisplays flexibility, team spirit, compassion,\nrespect, politeness and accountability when dealing with customers. Demonstrates\nawareness of and sensitivity for patient's rights in all interfaces with\n\npatients.\n\n\n\n AREAS OF EMPHASIS\n\n\n\n\n· \nInstructs and\nprepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures.\n\n\n· \nDemonstrates\ncompetence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and reports\nmalfunctions to manager or lead.\n\n\n· \nCompletes all\nassigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to department advantage-assisting\nothers and or assisting with room turnover\n\n\n· \nEmployee\nunderstands his/her role on maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only.\n\n\n· \nDemonstrates\ncompetency in providing health care services in own job category to all age groups.\n\n\n· \nDemonstrates\ncompetency in interpersonal relationships to all age groups.\n\n\n\n\nDOCUMENTATION/INFORMATION\nMANAGEMENT\n\n\n· \nDemonstrates\ncompetency in the use of Hospital information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS.\n\n\n· \nParticipates in\nhospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces,\n\netc.) when warranted.\n\n\n· \nDemonstrate\nconfidentiality using own password and all patient care modules.\n\n\n· \nAnswers telephone\ninquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel\n\nin other areas of the hospital while maintaining\ngood phone etiquette.\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n\n\n· \nBLS (American\nHeart Association ONLY)\n\n\n· \nTwo (2) years'\nexperience\n\n\n· \nNYS License (or\nable to obtain prior to start)\n\n\nPreferred: \n\n\n· \nVIR Certified-preferred
