CT Technologist Location: 25-10 30th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11102 Shift: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day Shift)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced CT Technologist to join our radiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures while adhering to safety protocols, technical standards, and patient care guidelines. This position demands a detail-oriented individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CT equipment using appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Conduct daily calibration and quality control checks to ensure optimal equipment performance. Administer radioactive materials in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols. Maintain all regulatory documentation, including logs, equipment reports, and charge sheets. Perform quality assurance and safety testing while adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles. Manage patient imaging data, including film development, storage, and retrieval for radiologist review. Order and verify radiopharmaceutical doses as per departmental procedures and confirm dosage activity levels prior to administration. Ensure patient comfort and safety, assessing and addressing individual needs throughout the imaging process. Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in performing CT scans following established protocols
- Strong understanding of radiologic physics, radiation safety, and contrast media usage
- Excellent patient care, communication, and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergent situations and operate under minimal supervision
- Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems and electronic health records (EHR)
Required Qualifications:
- New York State License (L.R.T) – Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT Certification – Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT)
- BLS Certification – Basic Life Support (AHA approved)
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
