  • Registered Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to pediatric patients and significant others.
  • Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying critical thinking in patient care management.
  • Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in plan of care development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and delegation.
  • Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model and allocates material resources effectively.
  • Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, and MD/RN Unit Collaboration.
  • Considers patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all care aspects.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Uses evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.
  • Initiates service recovery for patient and family concerns and escalates as needed.
  • Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening.
  • Supports staff use of evidence-based practices to understand patient perceptions.
  • Conducts Purposeful Hourly Rounding addressing the 4 Ps.

  • Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based procedures.

    Job Requirements
  • Registered Nurse licensure in New York State required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
