Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician – Oral SurgeryLocation: 325 W 15th St, New York, NY 10011Shift: Monday–Friday, 10:45 AM – 7:00 PM

Job Summary

The Certified Surgical Technician provides surgical assistance to residents and attending surgeons in the Oral Surgery Clinic and Dental Ambulatory OR/procedure room. This role is essential in supporting safe, efficient surgical care by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment, assisting at chairside, and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to the surgical chair, review medical records, and confirm readiness for surgery.
  • Provide continuous four-handed surgical assistance to clinicians.
  • Prepare and disinfect countertops, mayo stands, and surgical equipment prior to procedures.
  • Organize sterile instruments, trays, and supplies for each procedure.
  • Take radiographs as required before, during, and after treatment.
  • Restock and maintain surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in monitoring patient vitals, suctioning, passing instruments, and handling medications.
  • Break down and clean surgical areas post-procedure, disposing of medical waste properly.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies.
Requirements
  • Dental Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant surgical/dental assisting experience (5 years preferred).
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
