    Job Details
  • Assist Cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac/vascular and electrophysiologic procedures.
  • Provide technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
  • Provide care to meet patient needs and handle other duties as required and assigned.
  • Set up and operate a variety of electrical/imaging equipment and computers.
  • Display good judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Organize and prioritize performance based on procedural findings.
  • Advocate for patient's needs.
  • Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results/outcomes.
  • Select and operate procedural supplies/equipment based on procedural findings.
  • Operate both monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
  • Effectively communicate and educate patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure focused patient care.
  • Recognize and assist anesthesia needs for deeply sedated or anesthetized patients.
  • Collaborate with Research RN/Coordinator in laboratory-based research.
  • Interact professionally with physicians to facilitate patient safety, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes during procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning patient care specific to procedures.
  • Assume accountability for patient care by directing team members to achieve standards of excellence and optimal outcomes.
  • Train and mentor team members effectively.
  • Interact professionally with vendors to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes from product/equipment use.
  • Update knowledge and skills as equipment changes are implemented.
  • Check and evaluate equipment daily to ensure adequate performance and safety.
  • Manage digital archiving system for safe storage of patient images and reports.
  • Report and remove malfunctioning equipment promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment issues.
  • Query archived images and create CDs to facilitate transmission of patient information.
  • Provide care to patients undergoing coronary invasive procedures in the Cath Lab following guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Report significant observations and reactions to appropriate personnel and document care provided.
  • Maintain working knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Assist in passing sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices using aseptic technique.
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization.
  • Suggest equipment or procedural changes for quality patient care.
  • Prepare sterile field and observe for deviations from proper aseptic technique, correcting as necessary.
  • Accurately interpret EKG and alert physician of any irregular activity.
    Job Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and operation of equipment and supplies inherent in cardiac/vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Knowledge and competency in moderate sedation administration and policy protocol.
  • Knowledge of electrophysiology (EP) concepts, theory, and fluoroscopic anatomy and physiology involved in diagnostic and interventional EP procedures.
  • Ability to recognize and assist in treatment of complications arising from cardiac/vascular/EP diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Ability to set up sterile table with appropriate supplies specific to each procedure.
  • Knowledge of correct preparation and draping of patients.
  • Extensive knowledge of use and function of supplies specific to cardiac/vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Knowledge and ability to properly connect to appropriate physiologic monitoring equipment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and appropriate use and function of imaging equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation specific to device implantation and function.
  • Knowledge and recognition of invasive cardiology routines.
  • Proficient in set-up of all procedures.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, comprehension, speaking).
  • Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
