Job Details- Registered Professional Nurse providing safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.
- Delivers patient care incorporating Relationship Centered Care and nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and organizational nursing standards.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care needs applying critical thinking in patient care management.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team in development, implementation, and evaluation of plan of care.
- Prioritizes patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating as appropriate.
- Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family, and healthcare team members.
- Manages assignments within Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model and allocates material resources effectively.
- Role models Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, and MD/RN Unit Collaboration.
- Considers patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care.
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Uses evidence-based practices to understand patients' perceptions of care.
- Initiates service recovery for patient and family concerns and escalates as needed.

Job Requirements- NYS RN/LPN License required.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years RN/LPN experience.
- 2 years of ambulatory experience required.
- 1 year travel experience required for Travel positions, not required for Per Diem positions.
- EPIC experience highly preferred.
Schedule Information- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts.
Additional Details- Performs charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinates with Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Shift Manager to ensure appropriate supply utilization and inventory.
- Escalates material or staffing resource deficits to appropriate management.
- Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care regarding equipment, staff, supplies, and resources.
- Documents accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements and standards of care.
- Facilitates patient throughput on shift basis.
- Contributes to environment of care supporting clinical colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Advances clinical competence from novice to expert.
- Projects professional image and communicates with caring, respect, compassion, and empathy.
- Incorporates ethical principles into decision making for patient and family.
