Transportation Worker II - State of North Carolina : Job Details

This position will function as a Transportation Worker Level 2 within the Division 9 Forsyth County Maintenance Unit. Work will consist of manual and equipment operational work in the maintenance of highways within Forsyth County. Work will include operating various pieces of highway equipment such as a patch truck, dump truck, sweeper, roller, and skid steer. Work will also include installing traffic control devices, installing temporary erosion control devices, flagging traffic, crack sealing, asphalt patching, installing pipe culverts, operating hand and power tools, monitoring tasks performed by inmates, clearing right of way and responding to emergencies such as snow and ice removal, downed trees, and traffic control cleanup during normal business hours or during emergency call situations and scheduled night work.
