Our work impacts the world positively.HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Business Class Lead for national engagement in deep foundation design and construction, focusing on developing a cohesive geotechnical community in the southeast US (FL, AL, MS, TN, SC). The lead will represent HDR to clients, communicate capabilities, build relationships across business groups, develop technical expertise, and support growth. Responsibilities include hiring, mentoring, promoting innovative practices, strategic planning, project management, and marketing.Primary ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and improve technical competencies of geotechnical staff in deep foundation design and construction.Engage in project delivery, resource planning, and team optimization.Hire, train, mentor, and manage geotechnical personnel.Promote geotechnical practice and develop partnerships for innovation and risk mitigation.Contribute to standards, best practices, and quality assurance activities.Participate in strategic planning and project evaluation.Manage projects and lead geotechnical tasks.Develop marketing strategies, proposals, and represent HDR in client interactions.Collaborate with HDR leadership to align strategies and foster a national geotechnical community of practice.Facilitate national training programs, maintaining instructor credentials and engaging in DOT training deployment.Preferred QualificationsPE registration in AL, FL, MS, SC, and TN (or ability to obtain within 6 months).Proficiency in deep foundation design, construction, and claim mitigation.Master's degree or higher in Engineering (Geotechnical/Geologic) or equivalent experience.15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering projects for public/private clients.Experience with investigations, analyses, and design for foundations, slopes, excavations, and retaining structures.Knowledge of rock and soil mechanics with advanced solution capabilities.Experience with geotechnical software for static, dynamic, and seismic analyses.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.At least 10 years of relevant experience.Professional Engineering license and technical expertise.Experience managing diverse teams.Ability to collaborate with various business and technical leaders.Commitment to quality and HDR values.Active participation in our employee-owned culture.Additional InformationHDR values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
