Transportation Engineer Associate I (61036368) - State of South Carolina : Job Details

Performs inspection work in specialized areas such as the placement of asphalt, concrete and bituminous surfacing for proper grade, alignment, and completion. Inspects placement of embankment and base materials for proper grade, alignment, and composition. Inspects placement of culvert pipe and construction of drainage structures. Inspects grassing operations. Samples materials as specified. Samples material and performs tests on construction materials for quality ensuring that materials are in compliance with specifications. Prepare monthly estimates, final estimates and final plans on assigned projects to ensure contractor is accurately paid for all work performed under the contract. (District/ Field) Performs surveying duties as needed. Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, may include extended hours and/or 12 hour shifts.
