QUALIFICATIONS: *An honorably discharged veteran is the first priority, or active duty/veteran/surviving spouse or a child/parent of a veteran may be considered. *Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record and have no felony convictions. *Completion of secondary education or equivalent with training or experience in vehicle operation. *Must possess the knowledge to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word. *Must be internet savvy to use MapQuest and other search programs. *Must be able to use a Global Positioning System (GPS) or be able to read maps and navigate around the different routes. *Must be able to network and coordinate with other agencies.DUTIES: Transport eligible veterans to and from the Dayton VA Medical Center (VAMC). Pick them up and return them to their place of residence. Transport VAMC referred veterans to other medical appointments in the vicinity of the Dayton VAMC, as well as to WPAFB. Provide new passengers the van transportation policy. Record and complete mileage and fuel usage. Coordinate with veterans who might need assistance equipment to accompany them. Coordinate with VAMC nurses and social workers when a hospitalized veteran is released and needs transportation. Assist veterans with making changes to their appointments to accommodate the transportation schedule. Maintain the safety and hygiene of the van and communicate needs to the Transportation Coordinator. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards of the job function. Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.These duties are illustrative only and you may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.
