The 711th Human Performance Wing, School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Office of the Dean, Student Services, Registrar office seeks to hire an entry-level, DO-1702-01, Training Technician in Dayton, Ohio. The incumbent will serve as a subject-matter expert on all training and scheduling functions for USAFSAM and the Center.

Position duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and manages all phases of the student enrollment process and course administration for USAFSAM courses; strategic communication with Air Force Medical Service leaders including the Surgeon General of the Air Force and civilian partner higher education facilities; deconflicts educational shortfalls; monitors allocations and redistributes vacancies to maximize seat utilization across the Aerospace and Operational Medicine Enterprise.
  • Coordinates with university Registrar offices and MAJCOM readiness offices to record accurate student completions and award applicable college-level credit.
  • Ensures class rosters are provided to 711 HPW Financial Management (FM) personnel for proper resource management.
  • Directs, advises and disseminates programming actions associated with all USAFSAM courses and networks with key AF-level officials on all aspects of policy, planning, review, course scheduling, student enrollment and quota management.
  • Serves as advisor for USAFSAM data in the Air Force Oracle Training Administration (OTA) database, interoperational personnel system, Training and Scheduling Management Systems (TASMS), and GeniusSIS. Programs, manages, and distributes the allocation of funded and unfunded student quotas to MAJCOM and functional training managers for USAFSAM courses through OT A.
  • Monitors and reviews the effectiveness of Registrar Division procedures.
  • Facilitates education and training through effective management of instructional products including equipment requirements and instructional aids.
  • Schedules academic classrooms and ensures designated classrooms meet equipment requirements necessary to support training events.
  • Analyzes training management data and provides trend analysis on student production (including programmed versus actual student entries) to determine impact, program deviations, elimination, wash back and student advancement trends.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DO-01/GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include experience which equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
