SUMMARY
The Training & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high-impact training and onboarding programs for new hires and existing employees. This role ensures a consistent and engaging new employee experience while supporting ongoing learning initiatives that contribute to performance, retention, and compliance — especially within technical field roles and customer-facing teams.
POSITION SCHEDULE AND ONSITE REQUIREMENTS
This is a direct-hire, full-time, on-site position located at our Franklin, TN, office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.
Onboarding Program Management
- Coordinate and execute new hire orientation (virtual/in-person).
- Develop onboarding schedules tailored by role (field technician, customer service, corporate, etc.).
- Maintain checklists and partner with hiring managers to ensure smooth transitions for new employees.
- Track onboarding milestones, gather feedback, and improve processes continuously.
Training Program Development
- Design, implement, and evaluate training programs focused on safety, compliance, job skills, and soft skills.
- Create and maintain training materials, SOPs, manuals, and LMS content.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain training records and certifications in the HRIS or LMS.
- Track participation and compliance with required trainings (e.g. anti-harassment, safety, security).
- Monitor onboarding effectiveness through surveys, performance data, and retention trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, Safety, and department heads to identify learning gaps and align training with business needs.
- Support manager development by organizing leadership or supervisory training sessions.
- Lead the Company's performance management processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in onboarding, training delivery, or HR coordination.
- Experience creating and maintaining training materials, SOPs, manuals, and LMS content.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and adult learning theory.
