Job DetailsJob LocationBerkeley Headquarters - Berkeley, CARemote TypeHybridPosition TypePart TimeSalary Range$50.00 HourlyDescriptionPosition Title: MHFA Certification Instructor - BilingualAccountability: Director of TrainingStatus: Part-time, non-exemptRevised: March 2024Training Facilitator - BilingualRole:This part-time MHFA Certification Instructor role is 95% training facilitation and 5% administration. Bilingual Spanish is preferred. MHFA Certification Instructor will attend a 3-5 day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) train the trainer certification program to become certified in the MHFA training model. MHFA Certification Instructor will be responsible for training 8 hours courses to groups of 6-50 people, in English and Spanish. Large groups will have a co-facilitator. Trainings will occur across local bay area counties or virtually pending director of training instruction. MHFA Certification Instructor will support with minimal administrative work within MHFA learning portal and ABW documentation portals.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Become a certified in MHFA instructor (paid for by A Better Way)
  • Facilitate 8 hour MHFA courses
  • Administrative support in the MHFA instructor portal
  • Scheduling MHFA course dates
  • Manage MHFA material inventory
  • Registration morning of training
  • Coordination with off-site venues
  • Network and attend countywide MHFA trainer provider meetings
  • Submitting training documentation where necessary
  • Special projects and other related administrative duties
Qualifications:
  • Bilingual- Spanish
  • Bachelor or Master's degree, clinical experience preferred
  • Personal and or professional experience with and knowledge of Mental Health First Aid Issues
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be exceedingly well organized, detail oriented, accurate and timely with assigned tasks
  • Must be flexible and enjoy challenges of executing a wide range of projects through both independent and collaborative efforts
  • Ability to respond to change efficiently
  • Handle essential tasks as assigned
  • Must be able to interact skillfully with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel to training sites and other places as needed
  • Intermediate level ability with MS Office: Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Good driving records
  • Ability to work intermittent nights and weekends

Hours may vary from zero to nineteen hours per week.
