Primary Scheduled Hours: Days, 80 hours per pay period

Job Summary:Responsible for maintaining the standards of Districts talent by providing comprehensive training at the start of employment and as needed throughout employment. Duties include working closely with District leadership and managers to determine areas for employee improvement, developing training courses for new and existing employees and establishing methods to track employee performance after the completion of training. Manages the Districts Learning Management System (LMS). Delivers training to promote the mission of the District.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assessing training needs and effectiveness of training. Gathers information from employees, managers, and other instructors using surveys, interviews, and consultations.
  • Creating and preparing training materials. After a review of desired outcomes, works with leaders to determine the best method of training delivery.
  • Handling Administrative tasks. Specialists may enroll employees in courses, design schedules, integrate systems and other equipment, evaluate existing training programs, and serve as Learning Management System (LMS) admin person.
  • Acting as an employee liaison.Training and development specialist supports and mentors new employees while monitoring and presenting employee performance and keeping track of employee attendance and course completions.
  • Maintains detailed training record including the use of the Districts Learning Management System (LMS) and runs reports as requested by District Leadership.
  • Maintains monthly and annual training Calendar for the Staff Development Department and coordinates space reservations.
  • Develop systems to monitor and ensure employees are performing their responsibilities according to the training and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Treats patients and families with respect and dignity; ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Studies current trends, new technology/development, teaching methodologies through professional journals, seminars/conferences, professional societies, etc.
  • Serves as a resource person to Staff and leadership.

Education Background and Experience Requirements

Associates degree and 3 years of work experience with training development duties, record keeping, and organizational duties.

Required Experience:

Prior experience of providing full-scope training materials, from analyzing company needs to lesson planning, development and implementation is required.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PPT.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Bachelors degree in education or other relevant field such as business and experience in instructional design.

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
