$73,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

At Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU), we're looking for a passionate Entry-Level Traffic Operations Engineer to join our collaborative, creative team.You'll contribute to projects that improve roadway safety, reduce congestion, and shape the future of mobility across communities. Whether it's optimizing a signal corridor, evaluating crash data, or supporting multimodal corridor studies, you'll grow alongside experienced mentors while making a tangible impact.What you will do:

• Assist in delivering diverse traffic and transportation projects—from traffic impact studies to safety assessments and feasibility analyses
• Analyze traffic data and evaluate transportation system performance using industry-standard tools
• Support the preparation of reports, graphics, presentations, and technical memos
• Help prepare proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work with guidance from senior staff
• Participate in meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Learn and apply modeling, simulation, and analytical software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, TransModeler, ArcGIS Pro, etc.)
• Grow in your knowledge of national guidance (MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO Green Book, etc.) and local agency standards

RequirementsEducation:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field. A master's degree with a focus on Transportation is a plus

Experience:

• 0-3 years of professional experience, including internships, co-ops, or research

Skills & Tools:

• Familiarity with Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, or similar tools is helpful
• Basic programming or data skills (e.g., Python, R, Excel VBA, GIS) are a bonus

Certifications:

• Engineering Intern (EI/EIT) certification, obtained or in progress preferred
