ATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted Senior Traffic Engineer to join our growing team! This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices. We are considering candidates based out of Herndon or Richmond, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Apply broad knowledge of leading-edge transportation engineering principles and techniques to improve the efficiency, reliability, resilience, and safety of transportation systems.
- Analyze and document findings in technical memos, project reports, and research summaries.
- Utilize Excel, Synchro, VISSIM, HSM, ISATe, Cube, and additional traffic operation applications to analyze transportation systems, summarize results, and propose improvement plans.
- Prepare traffic design plans for traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, lighting, and ITS devices using Microstation or AutoCAD.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field required.
- PE in traffic engineering is required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Self-initiative to solve problems and stay updated on the latest innovations in traffic engineering.
- Ability to complete assignments with high quality, on time, and within budget.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities seamlessly.
- Demonstrated technical professional competency in traffic engineering and transportation planning related to safety, planning, engineering, design, and operational needs.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience with ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) technology is a plus.
- Experience with safety analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with Microstation and AutoCAD graphic packages.
- Experience in various traffic studies, microsimulation network development, and transportation data analysis is desired.
- Project management experience is a plus.
Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. We offer a competitive salary range of $88,000 to $133,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeting 2% of the salary.
