Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 83,000 miles of pipelines and 144 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2), and more. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils, and other products.

We are a market leader in each of our businesses – Natural Gas Pipelines, Products Pipelines, CO2, and Terminals. We have an extensive, strategically located asset footprint that is core to North American energy infrastructure and helps deliver energy products to high-demand markets.

BUSINESS UNIT: PRODUCT PIPELINES

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of petroleum products in North America, transporting approximately 2.4 million barrels per day. The majority of these products are transported through our Products Pipelines, which move gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, natural gas liquids, and condensate through about 9,500 miles of pipelines. We also operate approximately 65 liquids terminals that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and biofuels.

Primary Purpose:

  • Leverage business development colleagues, external relationships, and market intelligence to execute spot and term trades, optimize trade flows around existing assets, and maximize netback realizations for the company.
  • Adjust geographic responsibilities based on candidate experience, with initial focus on the Eagle Ford region.
  • Participate in existing Kinder Morgan trading activities in the Bakken region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to monetize and ensure the optimal flow of crude oil.
  • Utilize third-party transportation where Kinder Morgan is not present and structure contract terms to generate sufficient revenue.
  • Create and implement contingency plans to maintain production flow through logistics and commercial agreements.
  • Maintain essential knowledge of infrastructure relevant to commodity markets.
  • Support the delivery of the annual business plan target for the region.
  • Monitor deal profitability, manage risks (pricing, logistics, royalties), and adhere to trading procedures and controls.
  • Engage with industry experts and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Collaborate with regional trading teams to understand and trade based on global supply and demand.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and quarterly duties, including participating in operational conference calls, maintaining market price databases, updating internal business overviews and status reports, and preparing reports for senior management.
