This candidate is enthusiastic about continuous learning and adapting to evolving market dynamics and regulatory changes.The RoleYou will be strengthening our Trading and Portfolio Management desk focusing on building, managing, and trading REC and Carbon offsets. This desk is the core of our Houston office. The trading and portfolio management teams take full responsibility over our trading books and quote live prices to the sales-trading teams who are in direct contact with market participants. You will become an expert on the underlying drivers of price changes and the characteristics of various systems and methodologies in place.The role will include, but not be limited to, the following daily actions:
- Work and optimize our U.S. renewable energy market portfolios to capture trading opportunities and monitor risks.
- Identify trading opportunities arising from our books, sales-trading flow, or market movements.
- Quote competitive prices daily to the sales-trading team.
- Collaborate with the Mid-office for daily reconciliation and with Risk for updated VAR monitoring.
Stay updated on market activity through direct engagement with market participants such as traders, brokers, and platforms.The RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Strong quantitative skills, including econometrics, time series analysis, and optimization methods.
- Understanding of financial markets, trading principles, and risk management concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and modeling.
- Living in or willing to relocate to Houston, Texas.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to market dynamics and regulatory changes.
