At Veridiam we recognize that talent is at the forefront of our organization and define who we are in today's industry. POSITION SUMMARY Supports teams and departments compliance requirements. Monitor and interpret trade guidelines, export licenses and classifications under various government entities. Maintain and track documentation for international shipments or exports. Participate in internal and external audits, investigations and inquiries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and interpret trade guidelines including but not limited to assessing product eligibility under Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and assigning accurate Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) and other agency classifications based on product attributes.
  • Oversee and maintain export licenses, including compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and EAR.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures related to global trade compliance and logistics.
  • Determine and validate proper Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and proper Schedule B (Statistical Classification of Domestic and Foreign Commodities) classification.
  • Prepare and audit shipping documentation, invoices, packing lists, certificates or origin and customs declarations.
  • Maintain and track country of origin and customs valuation documentation and ensure accuracy with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)/United States Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
  • Ensure adherence to trade compliance requirements/policies with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
  • Monitor license use, permits, expiration dates and re-export conditions.
  • Maintain detailed records of all import/export activities for audit and internal control purposes
  • Conduct effective communication with requestors and internal customers to obtain product information or use source systems/activity to enable the correct classification of exported and imported material.
  • Assist with UTAS investigations, audits, corrective actions and voluntary disclosures.
  • Support and assist with internal and external audits, including government inquiries and internal assessments.
  • Provide and assist with training as needed or required.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 years' import/export operations and trade compliance preferred.
  • Certified Export Specialist (CES), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and a high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with HTS and ECCN.
