Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Operations, this position performs complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work and is responsible for the execution of the park safety program as the Site Safety Officer (SSO). Supports maintenance and repairs to facilities, equipment, and grounds for Garner State Park. Operates all types of equipment such as trucks, tractors, trailers, mowers, and power tools. Distributes herbicides/pesticides in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations. Performs natural and cultural resources management tasks to include trail work, historic building preservation, and invasive species control via herbicide and manual removal.
