Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Support in areas of 401(k), payroll, workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA recordkeeping.- Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, SOX, ERISA, and oversee mandated reporting to relevant agencies.- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government regulations affecting HR functions, ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.- Assist in preparing records and administering benefit programs, personnel changes (hiring, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), and employee statistics for government reporting.- Provide backup assistance for payroll processing and attendance tracking.- Conduct training and orientation on company policies, benefits, safety, and harassment prevention for new employees.- Administer performance improvement plans, review programs, and discipline processes.- Investigate employee complaints, provide counseling, and recommend actions on employee relations issues.- Conduct exit interviews, and analyze trends in turnover and absenteeism.- Review local market rates annually and provide recommendations.- Reconcile monthly billing/invoices for group benefits and resolve conflicts.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- PHR certification preferred.- Proficient in HR systems, payroll systems, spreadsheets, word processing, and publishing software.- Strong multi-tasking skills.- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and ownership of projects.- Limited travel required.
