Job Description:

Designing sheet metal progressive stamping dies is a must have

  • Design the following;
  • Progressive pierce and form dies which will include stock strip development
  • Single hit pierce and form dies.
  • Special tools such as robotic weld fixtures, assembly fixtures and drill fixtures.
  • Drilling & routing machines
  • Custom machine fabrication applications varying in degree of complexity.
  • Rebuild and redesign existing tooling to be upgraded, sometimes with little or no documentation.
  • Develop and work with working sketches.
  • Convert 2D drawings to 3D Solidworks drawings when necessary. other 3d software's acceptable
  • Consult and work with tool and die makers, design and production engineers, press operators and assembly line workers as required to ensure proper part and die design criteria is met.
  • Plot drawings, create bill of materials and order materials and commercial items for die and machine projects.
  • Assemble project files for shop distribution and records.
  • Communicate frequently with leadership team and project requesters regarding status of projects.
  • Provide quotes as needed for dies, special machines and fixtures as needed
  • Working hours: 5:40 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. (Monday – Thursday)

Job Requirements / Preferred Skills:

  • Associates' degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • One or more years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organizations
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Proven history of a good work performance, reliability, and attendance
  • Strong time management, prioritization, multi-tasking, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strives for continuous improvement and has a team-based mindset
  • Self-motivated, responsible and requires minimal direction.
  • Ability to apply good judgment and make decisions independently.
  • Effective professional communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Can represent themselves, the department and the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to work well and effectively communicate with office and factory personnel.
