Tool Design Specialist - Owens Corning : Job Details

The Tool Design Specialist is responsible for designing high-precision molds for SMC and other compression molding processes. This role involves maintaining detailed tooling design records, supporting technical issues, driving tooling enhancements, and collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers. Handle all aspects of mold design, ensuring specifications and quality standards are met. Analyze sketches, specifications, and drawings to determine design factors such as dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and material properties. Create and refine detailed mold designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Coordinate design reviews and facilitate technical discussions with internal teams. Support planning, manufacturing, assembly, quality, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and efficient.
