Job Description :
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Tool and Die Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing precise tooling solutions-including dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges-that support the manufacturing of high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, machinists, and production staff to ensure tools meet performance and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design progressive and transfer dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to develop robust, cost-effective tooling solutions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, part models, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to validate tool and product integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation including BOMs, revision histories, and CAD files.
  • Provide engineering support during tool fabrication, testing, and implementation phases.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling performance issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:Required:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tool and die design, preferably in a stamping or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, materials science, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Familiar with machining, metal stamping, injection molding, and heat treatment processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred:
  • Experience with FEA software or simulation tools.
  • Background in a tool room or die maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
