JOB PURPOSE: The Tobacco Treatment Specialist is a new position within Cumberland District Maine Prevention Network (MPN), a State grant funded program of the County's Public Health Department. Pay is based on experience, ranging from $31.08 to $32.98/hr. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. The role involves executing school-based tobacco treatment initiatives across Cumberland County, engaging with prevention teams, and implementing direct services and policy strategies to reduce youth tobacco use.The specialist collaborates with school leadership to promote quit attempts among youth, provides counseling, connects families with cessation resources, and supports quality improvement through data tracking and evaluation. They also organize and implement policy, systems, and environmental strategies to foster youth health and community engagement.QUALIFICATIONS:
