Thermal Processing Director - The People : Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced Thermal Processing Director to lead their retort operations and serve as the Process Authority for their food manufacturing facility in the Midwest. This critical leadership role ensures food safety, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency in their thermal processing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and optimize all retort/thermal processing operations
• Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and FSMA regulations
• Act as Process Authority, collaborating with regulatory inspectors and customers
• Lead validation studies and review HACCP plans
• Partner cross-functionally with QA, R&D, and Production teams
• Develop and mentor a high-performing processing team

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in food manufacturing, with 5+ years in thermal processing leadership
• Strong knowledge of retort operations and regulatory standards
• Proven leadership, analytical, and communication skills
