The Thermal Modeling Engineer within the Research and Development team will be responsible for contributing to the detailed design and development of turbo machinery throughout the product development life cycle, from definition of the customer/product requirements to the product implementation and qualification phases.This is an onsite position at our Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL.Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsabilities:Thermal Modelling and testing of centrifugal compressor, electric motor, and power electronic systemCompressor, electric motor, and power electronic thermal reliability test plan specificationOverseeing and participating in compressor testing activities in the DTC laboratoriesRecommending compressor testing improvements in R&D labAero/thermal test data analyses and processingSummarizing compressor test results in reports for future referenceDevelopment of compressor performance range, maps, and rating programs (CPR).Performing thermal designs for new productsUsing CAD tools including main streamline software and CFD in design and evaluationBackground & SkillsBackground & Skills:Masters or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent3+ years of working experience in advanced fluid mechanics and heat transfer3+ years of working experience in thermal design and analysesExperience with commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code such as CFX, and NUMECAExperience with commercial stress analysis code such as AnsysFamiliarity with CAD/CAEOrganization experience in product developmentStrong team player with high focus on meeting deadlines and team objectivesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentMust be detail oriented and self-motivatRefrigeration system thermal cycle analysis experience is plusPreffered (in addition to required qualifications)Experience in compressor and chiller testinAt Danfoss, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters creativity, innovation, and a broader perspective in decision-making.
