As a therapeutic mentor, you will have the incredible opportunity to engage in one-on-one activities within the community that are safe, enjoyable, and perfectly aligned with the goals set by the youth and family team. The ideal candidate for this role will possess valuable experience in offering therapeutic or clinical services. A therapeutic mentor is pivotal in guiding and serving as a positive role model for young individuals. The weekly meetings typically occur for 1-3 hours, based on the Client's specific needs. These weekly activities will be carried out within the heart of the community. We can't wait to welcome the right candidate on board!
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supervising the assigned client, building positive relationships, being a role model, and supporting clients in their mental health recovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Model Behavior (act as a Role Model).Provide therapeutic interventions while doing activities in the communityMeet with the Client every weekProvide Clients with a safe, therapeutic environment Build trust through commitment and consistency.Encourage the child to use their full potential.Maintain open communication with Client families and County Case Managers.Attend training offered by Lad Lake Inc.Attending Plan of Care meetings when necessary.Report any criminal activity, abuse, or unusual happenings to your immediate supervisor.Enter case notes for each contact with the ClientQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a masters degree in social work, psychology, community mental health, or a related field. License preferred.
- Experience in clinical mental health services.
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must show proof of 100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury Auto Liability Insurance and 100,000 Property Damage Auto Liability Insurance.
- Must have good communication skills.
