Position Title: Therapeutic Foster Care Clinician - Two positions available

Facility & Division Name: Lutheran Social Services Group Inc.- GA Family Services

Purpose of this position

Lutheran Social Services Group, Inc is looking to hire two full-time Therapeutic Foster Care Clinicians for our Jamestown and West Seneca locations. These individuals will work as a part of the treatment team, providing services to youth who have been victims of abuse. She/he completes evaluations, provides consultation, maintains a caseload of individual and group therapy clients.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, with license to practice in NY (related mental health field with valid license) required.

Valid NYS driver's license

Experience working with youth and adolescents preferred, particularly in therapeutic settings where the individual has provided individual and/or group counseling.

Salary Range: $26.00 per hour minimum - $39.33 per hour maximum based on experience and credentials obtained.

Job Description

+ To assist in the evaluation of foster care youth who are believed to be victims of abuse and participate in the development of appropriate treatment planning for those youth.

+ To conduct weekly group therapy sessions which focus needs of teenagers.

+ To provide individual supportive therapy to those children determined to be in such need on a regular basis, including substance abuse counseling, trauma informed treatment, family counseling, and transitional counseling.

+ To complete and submit as required all necessary documentation; i.e. assessments, treatment goals, and summaries.

+ Provides psycho-educations and wellness education.

+ To maintain appropriate on-going liaison with in-house personnel regarding youth assigned to the caseload on their progress/needs.

+ Enhances compliance with behavioral expectations for the children and youth in the foster home and parents' homes.

+ Promotes integration with community resources and skill building.

+ Structures and implements evidence-based interventions to decrease problem behaviors and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior.

+ Safety - Follows required safety procedures.

+ In-services - Attends all required in service training.

+ Other duties as assigned.

GAFS Organizational Responsibilities

+ Actively participates as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team for assigned youth and to assist in coordinating and monitoring services that are tailored to the needs of the youth.

+ Engages in regular supervision with own supervisor, including scheduled evaluations.

+ Actively participates in all in-service programs and scheduled meetings during your on-days.

+ Maintains ongoing and open communication with team members and promotes relationships of trust and respect with residents and staff.

+ To be on emergency call 24 hours a day.

+ Fulfills obligations inherent in the major systems of the GACFS and the LSS Personnel policies.

+ Demonstrates a commitment to organizational and department goals.

+ Shares positive and negative information directly with team members and confronts others; to utilize the organizational chain of command.

+ Practices good listening skills and communicates well both in writing and verbally.

+ Demonstrates personal and professional ethics, attitudes and value systems which enhance team functioning and to abide by the Standards of Confidentiality.

+ Upholds child and family rights as outlined in State Office of Child and Family Services mandates and GACFS procedures.
