Compensation:$45,030 - $56,295Compensation Type:SalaryEmployment Type:RegularScheduled Weekly Hours:40E01Department:Academic AdministrationPosition SummaryProvides specialized academic, licensure and professional certificate testing services for SFCC and the surrounding community. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.This position will be located onsite in Santa Fe, New Mexico.Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implements the Center's various testing programs while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations; maintains testing schedules, eligibility requirements, and registration procedures; administers examinations while maintaining test security; ensures candidate eligibility; conducts examinee intake; maintains detailed testing files
  • Oversees the secure storage of all paper-based tests.
  • Administers computer based tests, including the management of multiple access passwords; prints results, generates reports, and troubleshoots technical problems.
  • Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides accurate general and test-specific information and assistance.
  • Maintains partnerships with external agencies and test vendors.
  • Maintains the Testing Center web pages.
  • Enters data to electronic databases; enters placement test scores, corrects errors, and locates student information.
  • May supervise assigned student employees
  • Creates and revises Testing Center forms and literature, including employee training manuals, registration and procedures informational handouts, and the emergency plan.
  • Participates in the facilitation of the operations of the Testing Center; assists in managing the operations of the Center in the Manager's absence.
  • Partners with Adult Education, The Welcome and Advising Center, and Financial Aid staff in assisting students.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of student confidentiality principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of test security practices for paper-based and computer-based tests.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of data collection and interpretation methods.
  • Knowledge of student services resources and student retention philosophy and practices.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs, including multiple protocols for test vendors.
  • Skill in the use of internet-based testing platforms.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports.
  • Ability to provide personal advisement and guidance to students and other customers.
  • Ability to exercise clear and independent judgment when making decisions in addressing issues that arise with respect to examinee, student or faculty requests or concerns, test administration and test security.
  • Ability to locate information about individual test policies as the need arises.
  • Ability to enforce testing center, third party, and test vendor policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field.
  • One (1) year related experience such as teaching, evaluating and/or advising students.
  • Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis
  • Must be able to be approved as a proctor by Pearson Vue, College Board, Educational Testing Service, Meazure Learning, Metro, and others as required.

  • The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
  • The work is typically performed in an office.
  • Evening hours may be required.
Work Hours
  • Typically, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be required to work after hours and weekends.
