Tester - HP ALM Location: Albany, NY 12226 Duration: 2 years Contract Position Requirements
- 84 Months experience with team leadership responsibilities as the lead project tester working on highly technical projects that required over five thousand hours of resource time.
- 84 Months of experience planning, designing, developing, and executing test plans based on business requirements and functional specifications.
- 84 Months of experience coordinating, tracking, and analyzing testing activities.
- 84 Months of experience creating test plans to be used by business application owners (client agencies) and managing User Acceptance Testing activities performed by the application users.
- 84 Months of experience using functional test tools to execute automated tests. Examples would be Micro-Focus UFT, Python. Experience must include the design, build, coding, and execution of automated test functions.
- 84 Months of experience in using Micro Focus ALM (formerly known as HP Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center).
- 84 Months of experience recording and customizing automated functional tests.
- 84 Months experience in creating SQL queries to validate correct back-end processing.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
Responsibilities Operating under the direction of Client staff.
- Provide guidelines, reviews, and support to developers and business analysts by creating functional tests to test applications built by developers.
- Perform testing activities, including UI automation, integration testing, and functional testing
- Develop Test cases per the Business Rules in order to perform or direct others on testing requirements.
- Review and provide guidance on the test scope and output of testers performing testing
- Facilitate, record and capture information from demos and user experience sessions.
- Create status reporting mechanisms to monitor the status of the above activities
- Host integration discussions, with representatives of all test teams, identify and help resolve roadblocks
- Ensure that requirements and deliverables are verified and validated at each testing phase and final acceptance
- Prepare test protocols and reports which meet regulatory requirements, during the final test cycle
- Help keep test processes streamlined for efficiency
- Be the primary advocate for the adoption of methodologies which are appropriate for the project
- Use Microsoft office tools for testing activities and communications with team members and management.
