From day one, you will know the work that you are doing matters.This full-time role is for a Test Technician working overnight, 11pm - 7am, Sunday night through Friday morning, with occasional weekend overtime (Saturday may be required based on seniority; Sunday is voluntary). During the first four months, there's no overtime to ensure a smooth and focused onboarding. The job itself changes day to day, you will perform different electrical tests on each transformer and auxiliary component, so having a good memory and the ability to follow procedure precisely is key.From low voltage tests like Doble and megger to high voltage impulse and dielectric testing, you'll calculate and analyze test data to determine whether a unit passes inspection. Safety training, some classroom instruction, and hands-on learning from seasoned technicians will guide your first 6 to 9 months on the floor. You will also be working with 3-phase power systems, interpreting current and voltage measurements, and troubleshooting any abnormalities by identifying symptoms and correcting issues with precision and care.The ideal candidate brings either an associate degree in electrical or electronics or strong hands-on experience with electrical systems, especially if you've worked with diagnostics, power distribution, or technical maintenance. You should be confident in basic math, curious about how things work, and ready to dive in and learn. A background in the military, especially in technical or mechanical roles, translates well here. You will need to be comfortable with basic forces and components, using tools, running calculations, and applying critical thinking to every test. The interview process is straightforward: first, you will complete a 45-minute aptitude test (in person) on basic calculations and electrical fundamentals. If you pass, you will immediately move into an interview with technical questions. Most candidates receive a decision within 48 hours.
