Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a Test Engineer for our civil aviation programs, working in support of our E-IDS and AIMS group. A BS degree with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience is required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree. FAA experience is required.
The position is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)'s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. Some remote flexibility is available.
Duties:
Support FAA E-IDS and AIMS projectTest the User Interface of the E-IDS PrototypeReview FAT Test Approaches and Success CriteriaPerform DR&A (Data Reduction & Analysis) Tool testing in FAA labPerform the Virtual Channels State Transition TestTest and analyze systems development including integration, systems testing, probability testing, field test plans, and customer acceptance plans to maintain the credibility/viability of the systemDefine, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product componentsDocument test discrepancies and author change requests as requiredCommunicate and document issues identified during test conductMaintain existing test processes and documentation to ensure adequate record-keeping and knowledge-sharingOrganize and maintain baseline regression procedures in support of operational releasesInvestigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with engineering and technical personnelSupport Test Team in developing test plans, requirements traceability, procedures, development, execution, and reportingSupport testing in Java and C++ development environmentsFormally conduct customer-witnessed testing demonstrating system requirements and functionalitySupport Operational patch testing, including system and adaptation changesSupport Aviation scenario developmentRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics with 6+ years of related experience; FAA experience is REQUIREDCompetent using software testing toolsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding and experience in the complete life cycle of software in an aviation systems environmentExperience in roles that required demonstration of excellent communication and writing skillsExperience with performing scalability and performance testingExperience using JAVA or C++ is helpfulInterpersonal skills to interact with customers and team membersCompetent in the use of formal testing methodologiesSST offers competitive salaries and 100% paid benefits including health, vision, & dental insurance that start on day one. 401K with match.
