Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Territory Manager in Felton, Delaware. The Territory Manager is responsible for the rental and sale of new and used machines, as well as the sale of select allied equipment and other dealer services within their assigned territory and customer list. Candidates with previous outside sales experience are preferred. A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
Requirements for the Territory Manager Position
Self-starter able to work with limited supervision; capable of developing objectives, setting priorities, and implementing ideas in a timely manner.Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.Ability to service existing customers with scheduled visits and prospect new customers effectively.Develop and execute effective action plans; handle customer situations to produce results.Interpret data and make quick decisions.Be innovative and creative; evaluate facts quickly and maintain good judgment.Negotiate and close deals effectively.Good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate using a telephone and a computer.Handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.Be well organized and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.Clean driving record and a valid driver's license.Strong PC skills; ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.Frequent travel, including overnight or out-of-town via car or airplane.Promote a positive customer experience.Uphold the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, and Teamwork.Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, lift and maneuver items up to 20 pounds, and perform reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing tasks around heavy equipment. Additional duties may be assigned.
