Job Description

Riggs Distributing, Inc. is a luxury appliance distributor based in Burlingame, California. We distribute Sub-Zero, Wolf, Cove, and Best Hoods appliances throughout Northern California, Western Nevada, and Hawaii. The Territory Manager (TM) will act as the primary point of contact and the face of the company with Dealers and Trade Partners in Northern California and Western Nevada. This employee needs to have proven sales experience, a dynamic, high-energy personality, and strong interpersonal skills. This position is suited for a person that is a self-starter, highly organized, motivated, and goal oriented. Organizing and facilitating meetings, training workshops, events, and entertaining customers must all be part of this employee's repertoire. The ability to effectively communicate the value of our brands and company core values to our customers is critical.

This position is a full-time (40-hours/week) exempt position that reports to the Vice President of Sales and has no direct reports. This role will require regular travel within the East Bay, North Bay, and San Francisco regions.

Responsibilities, Expectations, and Key Processes include but are not limited to:

  • Networking/Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealer principals, sales associates, marketing and purchasing teams, and dealer operations. Entertaining customers is an essential part of relationship building. Some examples include meals, off-site events, and sporting events, etc.
  • Drive Sales and Implement Company Initiatives: Develop strategic approaches to educate customers about the benefits and selling features of our brands. Analyze sales data with available tools, to understand and be fluent in all aspects of customers' sales. Formulate a structured plan to meet or exceed sales goals. Lead business meetings with key partners and implement marketing plans.
  • Merchandising: establish and maintain showroom displays that reflect the Riggs standard and hold key partners accountable. Includes collaboration on new display design, placement, product replacement, and cleaning of the displays as necessary.
  • Training: Schedule, prepare, host and lead training meetings to educate our partners on our brands, programs, sales resources, and new products

Impacts the Company & Customers: For both customers and company objectives, team member weighs tasks and contributions against the big picture and long-term organizational goals; devotes time and actions to most valuable pursuits; thinks about the company's success instead of just their own.

Acts Like a Business Owner: Team member operates as if Riggs Distributing is their own business; understands company operations and considers self to be invested in the customer as if an owner. Ability to delegate and utilize internal support teams to achieve highest efficiencies.

Contributes within a Team: Team member collaborates with others to produce work and drive results, grows others who can advise customers by sharing information and creating valuable experiences, and enables teams to work productively together.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years' experience in outside sales
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, and Outlook required
  • CRM experience required
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Northern California and to Sub-Zero Group facilities, including daily in-market customer visits and meetings.
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend events as needed. This may include overnight stays.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
