- Oversee day-to-day operations of the terrain parks in coordination with the Mountain Operations Director, emphasizing teamwork and successful and safe daily team operations.
- Effectively supervise, motivate, and coach the park crew to provide great customer service while efficiently performing daily tasks, through on-the-floor and hands-on approaches.
- Spearhead the design and creation of all terrain park features, and perform daily park crew duties including ramp and jump maintenance, signage updates, rail setting, and other duties.
- Safely test all terrain park features prior to opening them to our guests and evaluate park crew members' abilities to test features.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure all stations are in compliance with WPR standards and policies.
- Ensure all park crew members communicate through authorized channels using resort protocol, including prompt emergency notification.
- Help develop and execute winter training plans for ramp and jump maintenance, rail setting, authorized-channel communications, and department and company policies and procedures.
- In coordination with the Mountain Operations Director, create and manage departmental administrative tasks, including payroll, purchase orders, department budgets, and inventory control.
- In coordination with the Mountain Operations Director, interview, hire, and oversee employee documentation, employee reviews, and employee coaching.
- In coordination with the Mountain Operations Director, create, maintain, and modify the department schedule.
- In coordination with the Mountain Operations Director, develop and implement departmental standard operating procedures, training documents, logs, reports, and procedures.
- Spearhead the physical and digital organization of all department standard operating procedures, documents, logs, reports, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- At least 1 year of terrain park supervision is required
- At least 2 years of park construction and maintenance experience is required.
- Must be 18+ years old
- Knowledge of terrain park design, risk management, construction, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of rail setting and raking techniques.
- Expert skill in freestyle skiing or snowboarding.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to shovel, rake, and move large quantities of snow in rotation for 8-10 hours daily.
- Must be available to work at least 4 days per week, including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to work in constantly changing environmental conditions, including freezing temperatures, snow, wind, rain, and low visibility.
- Ability to frequently walk on slippery, icy, and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to shovel and transport snow (up to 70 lbs.) for long periods in adverse outdoor conditions.
- Ability to ski or snowboard safely to and from assigned workstations using company-designated routes.
