Excellent verbal and written skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate across locations to achieve goals. Responsibilities
- Complete oversight of Terminal Operations
- Manage Terminal P & L
- Monitor budgets and operational metrics, diagnosing and improving processes to enhance performance and profitability
- Oversee driver and dispatch personnel
- Handle staff training and development
- Recruit, train, qualify, and retain drivers
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting
- Drive operational growth while maintaining high service levels
- Manage payroll submissions for drivers and office staff
- Maintain safety, loss prevention, compliance, and audit standards
- Foster effective communication and teamwork across the business
- Develop leaders capable of coaching, counseling, and motivating staff to meet safety, service, productivity, and engagement goals
- Implement process improvements to meet or exceed customer service and delivery standards
- Collaborate with operational leaders and senior management to standardize processes, achieve business goals, and promote safety
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion by attracting and retaining diverse team members
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations, with ability to operate in compliance
- Strong managerial experience in the transportation industry, preferably in LTL or truckload sectors
- Ability to analyze operational metrics to improve efficiency, utilization, and profitability
- Leadership skills to motivate drivers and cross-dock personnel to exceed expectations
- Ability to work independently
- Fair and effective employee management skills
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Multi-tasking capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with McLeod is a plus
