TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR - (ENGINEERING TECH IV) - State of Illinois : Job Details

This position is accountable for conducting a continuing program of traffic control planning and inspection to ensure maximum safety and convenience where construction, maintenance, or utility work is being performed under traffic. Essential Functions Conducts visual inspections both day and night of traffic control devices in construction and maintenance areas to ensure they are properly installed and operating. Reviews and revises, as necessary, all traffic control plans for projects of 5 days or more duration to ensure they comply with applicable standards. Provides input for preconstruction meetings to be discussed and approves traffic control plans so that all parties involved understand their responsibilities for providing proper traffic control. Ensures that temporary traffic control devices meet standards or approve plans for those where no standard is applicable.
