Job Details

GENERAL SUMMARY: You will be the first point of contact for customers. Your role will include assisting in the layout and presentation of merchandise while ensuring adequate stock levels. Engage in various tasks to boost customer satisfaction and team performance while safeguarding company property.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Unload delivery trucks efficiently.
  • Receive, open, and unpack merchandise according to company procedures; organize stockroom or move products directly to sales floor.
  • Construct engaging merchandise displays.
  • Ensure shelves are stocked, rotated, and faced appropriately.
  • Restock items as necessary.
  • Assist customers with locating desired products.
  • Maintain cleanliness by disposing of trash and cleaning store areas, including floors and restrooms.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs.
  • Operate the cash register and flatbed scanner to process transactions and bag items.
  • Handle customer payments and provide accurate change.
  • Help in merchandise ordering using handheld devices when required.
  • Clean the front area of the store and assist in setting up displays as needed.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety policies and practices.
  • Aptitude for reading and executing plan-o-gram and merchandising guidelines.
  • Understanding of basic cash handling procedures.
  • Essential mathematical skills.
  • Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
