Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities - Under general supervision, maintain, install, inspect, test, move, alter, and repair telephone communications systems, low voltage electronic systems and related equipment including Citytime handscanners and associated cable and wiring. Serve as a technical resource person in the diagnosis and correction of computer, telephone and peripheral hardware problems, including scanners and printers. Conduct periodic inspections to determine proper utilization of Agency Desktop communications equipment to ensure complete compliance with work orders and proper installation. Respond in a timely manner to user concerns and problems. Provide IT related support at various sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Observe and control the operation of computer and peripheral equipment. Check indicators and determine proper functioning of equipment, ensuring timely and courteous service. Work with vendors to perform troubleshooting.

Qualifications1. Four years of full-time, satisfactory journey-level experience, acquired within the last ten years, in the maintenance, installation, or repair of telephone communications systems and equipment; or 2. Three years of full-time experience as described in 1 above, plus graduation from a recognized vocational or trade high school, with a major sequence of courses in electrical or electronic technology; or 3. Two years of full-time experience as described in 1 above, plus an A.A.S. degree from a community college or 60 college credits in a major sequence of courses in electrical or electronic technology. 4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 , 2 , or 3 above. License Requirement A Motor Vehicle Drivers License valid in the State of New York. Employees must maintain the license for the duration of their employment. Special Note To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, candidates must have, in addition to the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience in Assignment Level I or in a supervisory capacity.
