**Teen & Young Adult Support Specialist**

Youth Development & Education New York, New York Department **Youth Development & Education** Minimum Experience **Entry-level** Compensation **$25 an hour** Under the supervision of the Director of Teens & Young Adults, the Teen & Young Adult Support Specialist is responsible for supporting program participants 14 to 24 years of age; with developing and facilitating a variety of recreational activities. They must be creative, energetic, efficient and inspired to service a unique population of Teens and Young Adults. They will provide assistance/support to a variety of projects and assignments. Must be flexible and open minded. This is a PART TIME position working evening hours with occasional weekends. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's Degree, at least 2 years of experience working with youth and teens. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years of experience supervising Teens and Young Adults. Google Suite, Word, PowerPoint, experience a recreational activities, Bi-lingual Spanish. *Our mission is to create and sustain a strong, effective community that acknowledges and responds to the potential, achievements and interdependence of its diverse members. RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in planning, developing, promoting, implementing and coordinating recreational, educational and vocational programming for Teens and Young Adults

* Conduct group activities, including but not limited to; sports recreation, field trips, leisure activities, arts and crafts, social clubs, focus groups and additional on-site/off-site activities as assigned

* Evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs by monitoring attendance and performing satisfaction surveys

* Prepare and operate equipment for group activities and special events; ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are available upon request

* Maintain program attendance records, participant enrollment list, inventory list, equipment list

* Assess, monitor, document and continually evaluate participant needs and progress

* Assist in preparing monthly reports and participant enrollment packets

* Manage participant data and filing system

* Oversee outreach, recruitment and registration

* Monitor and manage new database software activities

* Obtain written consent for registration forms

* Collaborate with the Director of Evaluations and Outcomes- attend trainings; provide updates and on-going support

* Redirect negative and inappropriate behaviors within established guidelines
