TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIANBASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSEPerforms skilled work in the installation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a variety of computer hardware and related peripheral equipment, and software in all system facilities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to apply a working knowledge of computer hardware including routers, switches and servers, current generation applications and operating systemsMaintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material and adheres to chain of commandDemonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer applications as applicable to job responsibilitiesCommunicates clearly with all stakeholders Arts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies as related to job functionsShows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine tasks with little or no direct supervision Accepts new challenges in a professional mannerInstalls and maintains computer hardware, software and peripherals incorporating the various configurations used in the system facilitiesInstallation, repair or removal duties could include relocating computers, significant movement of other equipment including smart boards, climbing to work above the ceiling, and some kneelingProvides technical support for school personnel on hardware, software, and operating system software in system facilitiesMaintains a maintenance and repair schedule of computer hardwareAdheres to guidelines of network securityPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as assigned EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL Associate Degree in Information Technology or in-field technical certification and/or experience Holds or willing to obtain current generation industry certifications related to the position EXPERIENCE Previous successful technical experiences. Background in the K-12 framework is preferred
