Product Manager III
The main function of a product manager is to oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, focusing on defining product strategy, understanding customer needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful software products.
The Daily Major Activities:
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines key features and timelines.
- Prioritize features and initiatives based on value and impact.
- Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed product specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure requirements are clear and achievable.
- Effectively communicate product strategy and roadmap to stakeholders.
- Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
- Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing.
- Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
- Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.
- Develop, track and manage project plans, timelines and scope.
The Essentials:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
- PMP or PMI certification.
- Proven project management experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- People management and team building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
- Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
- Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
- 5-10 years of experience
