Technician (Part-Time-1099) - Chemico Group : Job Details

Position SummaryThe Site Technician is responsible for providing technical support at the customer sites by conducting performance evaluations of materials and mechanical processes including testing, analytical evaluation, problem solving, product recommendations, and process improvement. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20 to 24 hours per week.Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provides technical support including preventive maintenance, problem identification and resolution, and maximization of material use
• Interfaces with internal customers, working on-site to create process efficiencies
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities and sets goals for achievement
• Performs analytical testing on materials
• Makes recommendations regarding material usage, concentrations, recycling, product substitutions/selection etc
• Evaluates mechanical processes in relation to utilization of materials
• Understands customers' material use in manufacturing processes and provides appropriate recommendations for coolants, lubricants, cleaners, and other applicable materials
• Research product information from suppliers, manufacturers, Internet, and reference sources
• Works with EHS Departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards
• Makes presentations to internal/external management and personnel, communicating test findings and offering appropriate recommendations on processes
• Performs other duties and assignments as required

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred
• 1-3 years of technical experience in industrial manufacturing or technical environment preferred
• Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required
• Familiarity with software applications

This role requires presence on the manufacturing floor and a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces.
