An aerospace client is seeking a Technical Writer with Active Secret Clearance to write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as manuals, procedures, and specifications to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.Location: Elkridge, MD 21075 (Onsite)Position: Technical WriterPay Rate: $26/hr. – $39/hr. on W2 (DOE)Duration: 18 months or longerSchedule: 9×80 A***Hours may vary between 35 – 45 hours per week.***OverviewCandidates will join a high-performing team developing technical documentation for advanced military systems, including radars for F-22, F-35, F-16, B-1B, UAVs, and more.Responsibilities

• Write, rewrite, and edit technical manuals and publications for clarity and effectiveness.
• Prepare illustrative materials, including drawings, diagrams, and charts.
• Conduct quality reviews of technical materials.
• Publish materials in formats such as HTML, XML, SGML, and page-based formats.
• Collaborate with engineers, task leads, and instructors to develop technical manuals and deliverables.
• Perform desktop publishing for reports, whitepapers, and articles.
• Research and compile information from various sources to develop manuals adhering to military and civilian standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• US Citizenship and active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related field, or military experience with radar, communications, or sensors.
• At least 2 years of experience with structured authoring tools like MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to interpret technical artifacts and documents.
• Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Over 5 years of technical writing experience.
• Knowledge of content management, Simplified Technical English, XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, and DITA standards.
• Possession of DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
