Job Title: Technical Writer, Computational Biology

Location: 100% Remote

Schedule : Full time, 40 hours a week

• Must be able to commit to core work hours (9am-3pm PST)

Pay: $65/hr

Targeted Start: September 8 th

Duration: 12 month contract with potential to extend

Overview:

We're hiring aTechnical Writerwith a background incomputational biologyto support a platform that enables model development and sharing in the life sciences. This is across-functional, external-facing rolethat blends technical writing, user support, and product collaboration.

Job Description:

You'll work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to create intuitive documentation, support contributors, and improve user experience across the platform. You'll also help triage support requests, QA contributed models, and ensure scientific accuracy and clarity in all user-facing content.

Must-Haves:

• Experience writing documentation fortechnical tools(APIs, command-line tools, software packages)
• Background incomputational biology, bioinformatics, or a related scientific field
• Ability to run and validate contributed models and tools (QA, not fixing)
• Experience inuser supportor customer-facing technical roles
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, UX, product, and marketing teams

Requirements:

• 3–5+ yearsof experience in technical writing or scientific software documentation
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into accessible language
• Familiarity withJira, GitHub, and Google Colab(can be learned on the job)
• Comfortable navigating scientific workflows and thinking holistically about user experience
• Motivated, collaborative, and excited to work in a mission-driven environment
