We are currently looking for 'Technical Support Engineer - Platform Technologies' to support one of our clients with the following skills:

Requirement:

Job Title: Technical Support Engineer - Platform Technologies

• Technical Support Engineer (with exp in Javascript, Unix and MySQL)

Duration: 12+ months

Pay Rate: doe

Location: Orlando, FL (onsite twice a week)

of Positions: 1

Note: This position requires to be onsite twice a week. Wednesdays and Thursdays are currently prominent but may change.

Hiring Manager Notes:

Need candidates with technical support experience

• This is now a 2 headcount role.
• After 6 months of completing the project the candidate will be expected to work some weekends ( about 4 weekends in a year - either Saturday or Sunday). They can take an extra day off if they work on a weekend
• Must-have - Java script (must be able to read, write and interpret), Unix, MySQL - this role will involve heavy database work
• ServiceNow platform experience is a BIG PLUS
• Oracle, Python - nice to have
• ITSM, ITOM is good to have
• There will be 3 to 4 case calls per day and the SLA is to address and resolve the issue within 2 to 3 days
• HM prefers candidates from SaaS background

Notes:

Based on the job description, what are the must have non-negotiable items that a candidate must have to be successful in this role?

• Knowledge on Database, Object Oriented languages (java, javascript preferred) is must and having ServiceNow knowledge is a big plus in technical standpoint.
• Good to have experience in working with customers on the support side.

What backgrounds/skills can we be more flexible with that can be learned on the job?

• ServiceNow, Linux knowledge is optional and can be learned on the job.
• Degree in computer science is preferred but not mandatory if they have sufficient knowledge and experience on technical aspects.

What will the interview process look like?

Skills: In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues
• Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack
• Experience writing or debugging Object Oriented code (Java preferred, other relevant technologies ok)
• Experience in one (or more) scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
• Experience administering: Linux/Unix OR Microsoft Server
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Works well in a team environment
• Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service
• Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems
• Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues

Education:

The ideal candidate is a college graduate with a Computer Science degree or equivalent and has had a developer or database administrator role for more than 2 years. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.

The national base pay range below is a good-faith estimate of what our client may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Client's assessment of the candidates knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $65,000 - $70,000
